Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are certainly a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles out there, but there should be something which you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? A thing that triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, that which was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Consider your lifetime since it is apparently these days with regards to the story. How can we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So when we discuss the past stage to the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon all of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It’s similar to building a big house of cards, stacking on a single card after the other a course in miracles teacher. Then a good wind comes along and poof, it’s just blown over. It can’t even stand only a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon everything else; those items that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It certainly comes down seriously to the essence of who is my buddy? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how many of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this one?So you are asking the question, “When someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where this is heading would be to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will highlight is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. That is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to create his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the bond between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I’ve given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number four, “These thoughts don’t mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s speaing frankly about thoughts. First He’s speaing frankly about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts don’t mean anything.” You can see he’s attempting to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, which can be trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there’s no such thing as time, to take us back compared to that timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to teach us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That’s precisely the approach to operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in all kinds of things. What type of things would you purchase, these days?
