Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are always a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles out there, but there has to be something which you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, that which was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think of your lifetime since it is apparently in this world when it comes to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who is my source?” So once we discuss the last stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and trust in most of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. a course in miracles store It’s kind of like building a big house of cards, stacking using one card after the other. Then a good wind arrives and poof, it’s just blown over. It can’t even stand a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It had been this sense of placing trust in the Spirit and withdrawing trust in everything else; those issues that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we trust in those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It surely comes right down to the essence of who’s my cousin? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried that one?So you are asking the question, “If someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all this is heading is always to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening can tell you is that everything is mental and that everything is really a hallucination. That is an environment of ideas and what we call manifest reality, isn’t reality at all. There is no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to build his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the connection between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I’ve given everything I see all this is it’s for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way around number four, “These thoughts don’t mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s speaking about thoughts. First He’s speaking about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes back with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts don’t mean anything.” You can see he’s wanting to melt everything together and show the last veil or stage of awakening, which can be trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there’s no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to teach us that they’re all illusions and that they’re all equally meaningless. That’s precisely the approach to operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What type of things do you spend money on, in this world?
